The Orchard Program offers pre-employment training and work placements within the agriculture and hospitality sectors.

The 3 weeks of workshops prepares participants for 12 weeks of paid placement.

The pre-employment workshop series prepares participants for work life with 30 hours of workshops a week. The topics focus on pre-employment skills and hands-on experience in agriculture and hospitality. Participants will learn both indoor and outdoor gardening at Nathan’s Urban Farm and the Cavendish Community Food Hub. Pre-employment will address topics such as goal setting, communication, career exploration, resume writing, interview preparation, and much more. Participants will also engage with the community through visiting and learning about other organizations in London, Ontario. After successful completion of the 3-week series, participants will engage in a 12-week paid placement in the agriculture and/or hospitality sectors.
